Cycle Setup — Required Before Demo

Complete this configuration first. It mirrors the Administrator setup inputs the production system will require, and doubles as an intake form you can fill out live with a client. Everything below — job families, career levels, bonus components, LTI vehicles, 9-box labels — is designed to be added, removed, reordered, or renamed per client rather than hard-coded.

Have a saved setup file for a client? Import it here to skip the form entirely — works in any browser, on any computer, as long as you have the file.

Performance Levels

Label each performance level. These names carry forward to the Merit, Bonus and LTI screens — the LTI 45-box grid uses these same 5 levels as one of its axes.

Budget Pools

Merit / Bonus / LTI are pre-filled with the sum of everyone's system-recommended amount. If you change Career Levels, Corporate/Site Performance, or Eligibility below, use the button to refresh these totals. Market Adjustment and Promotion default to $0 since this cycle doesn't use them; they're captured here but not yet reflected in this demo's live calculations.

Fills Merit/Bonus/LTI above with the exact sum of everyone's system-recommended amount (Merit: comparatio range × performance rating; Bonus & LTI: performance rating), using whatever Career Levels / Corporate & Site Performance / Eligibility are currently set below — so the company-wide numbers tie out for this demo. A real client would set their own budget instead.

Eligibility — Merit, Bonus & LTI

For each award type, choose whether eligibility comes directly from an HRIS-provided flag, or from a hire-date cutoff.

Recommendation Calculation Mode — Merit, Bonus & LTI

For each award type, choose whether reviewers start from a blank guideline range they fill in themselves, or from a system-calculated starting recommendation within that range. "Provide a range only" leaves Your %/$ at 0 until a reviewer enters a value (still validated against the min/max range and flagged if outside it). "Set recommendations and range" pre-fills a system-calculated starting recommendation reviewers can adjust — same as today's behavior.

Job Family

Not every client uses Job Family. Select whether this client does; if yes, add, remove, or reorder the job family ladders this client uses (for example: Executive, Management, Professional, Technical & Admin — clients vary on how they group hourly/labor and IT roles into these families). Career Levels below are shared across families; each employee's own family is tracked separately from HRIS, and Job Family is descriptive only — it never drives Bonus or LTI.

Bonus Component Names

Name the bonus components this client uses (for example: Company, Individual, a named Site, or other). Leave a name blank to indicate that component is not used. The % split for each component is set per Career Level in the table below, not here — this supports a distinct split by grade/career level, including an optional No-Site Override.

Required — this is the performance-driven component and always applies.
Caps the top of the individual performance payout grid below (and its min/max range). Not always 200% — set to match this client's plan design.
This is the payout % applied to the performance-driven (Component 4) target, by performance level, capped at the Maximum Bonus Payout above. Shown here and again on the Bonus screen.

No-Site Bonus Override — Corporate / No-Site Locations

List the Division/Team values that represent a corporate or administrative location rather than an actual physical site (e.g., an HQ city, or "Admin"). Employees with a blank Team, or a Team matching one of these values, are treated as having no Team/Site for bonus purposes. Career Levels below can optionally define an alternate ("no-site") split that applies only to these employees, so a missing Site result isn't unintentionally counted as Company performance.

Corporate & Site Performance (Bonus)

Corporate performance and each Site's performance are determined before the cycle opens and are not editable by reviewers — only the Individual component can be adjusted on the Bonus screen. Company Bonus $ = target bonus × Company % × Corporate Performance below; Site Bonus $ = target bonus × Site % × that employee's Site's performance below. Leave a site's performance at 100% if it isn't finalized yet.

Pre-populated from the Sites/Teams found in the data — add, remove, or rename as needed.

Salary Range & Calculation Basis

Choose whether comparatio is calculated against internal Salary Grade Ranges or external Market Ranges, and how Merit and Bonus dollar amounts are based. All three are independently configurable.

Market Ranges uses each employee's own P50 as the comparatio midpoint, from the HRIS data feed.
This demo's dollar calculations use the End of Year Salary field provided in the data feed regardless of selection — Prorated Salary and Annual Base Salary Earnings require pay-history data not present in this data set. The selection is captured and displayed for review.

Career Levels — Bonus Split & LTI Eligibility *

This is where bonus and LTI are actually applied per grade/career level, using the component names configured above (should total 100 across the four % columns — leave a column at 0 for components this client doesn't use), and mark LTI eligibility — many clients mark lower levels "N/A" since those levels aren't eligible for LTI at all. For levels eligible for LTI, also designate whether that level uses 9-Box-based LTI coding (the 45-box grid) or Performance-Rating-only coding (a simplified 5-cell grid) — a client that doesn't use 9-Box at all simply designates every level PR-only. Check "No-Site Override" for a level that includes both site-based and corporate-based employees (e.g., a Mid Level Manager role that exists both at a site and at corporate) and enter the alternate split that applies only to employees in that level with no Team/Site assigned. Titles, count of levels, and structure are all editable — add, remove, or use the ▲/▼ buttons to reorder rows.

9-Box Talent Grid

Does this client use a 9-Box (potential × performance) talent grid to help drive LTI awards?

These 9 category names form one axis of the 45-box LTI grid (9 categories × the 5 Performance Levels above). Edit any label to match this client's talent-review terminology — rows represent Potential, columns represent this client's periodic talent-review performance view (a separate, broader view from the cycle Performance Level used as the grid's other axis).

LTI Vehicle Split

Add, remove, or reorder the LTI vehicles this client uses (for example RSU, PSU, Stock Options, RSA) and the % of the calculated award applying to each. Vehicle names, count, order, and split can all be customized per client, and can vary by grade/career level in the full system.

Org Unit Naming

Enter the actual Division and Team names used by this client. “Team” may represent a physical location (e.g., a mine or manufacturing site) rather than a literal team.

Display Options

Turn any of these on or off for this client. Everything defaults to on; switches off entirely — the column, row, or panel is removed rather than left blank. This controls what reviewers and employees see across every screen, including the Award Letter.
